Tell us about your OLSC….how did you get started? / Cuéntanos sobre su OLSC … ¿Cómo comenzó todo?

Started with a few people getting together about 3 seasons ago in the only pub in town that opened early for Premier League matches. The group kept gradually growing, and even more so after we created a facebook page.  In the summer of 2016 we decided to apply for official OLSC status which we were granted just in time for the 2016/17 season. Even though we are over 4000 miles from Anfield, the president of our branch was born less than 15 miles from there.

Empezó hace aproximadamente tres años siendo solo un pequeño grupo de gente reuniéndose en el único pub de la ciudad que abría temprano para ver los partidos de la Premier League. La asistencia siguió creciendo gradualmente y más aún después de crear una página de Facebook. En el verano de 2016, decidimos solicitar la oficialidad como OLSC, que se nos otorgó justo a tiempo para empezar la temporada 2016/17. Aunque estamos a más de 4.000 millas de Anfield, el presidente de nuestra sucursal nació a menos de 15 millas de allí.

 How many members do you have now, and where do you meet? / ¿Cuántos miembros sois ahora y dónde os reunís?

We usually get around 25-35 people show up for most matches, although on occasional we’ve had closer to 60.  This season we moved to a new location, so we now meet at Bärchen Beer Garden, 6209 N Maple Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 68104, USA.

Por lo general, solemos ser alrededor de 25-35 personas que acuden a la mayoría de los partidos, aunque en ocasiones hemos llegado a reunirnos más de 60. Esta temporada nos mudamos a una nueva ubicación, ahora nos juntamos en Bärchen Beer Garden, 6209 N Maple Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 68104, EE. UU.

Apart from watching the Mighty Reds, do you do anything else together? / Además de ver a los Mighty Reds, ¿hacéis algo más juntos?

Nothing official, but groups of us hang out socially other than at match times.

Nada oficial, algunos de nosotros salimos juntos más allá de los partidos.

What has been a highlight for your OLSC? / ¿Qué ha sido lo más destacado hasta ahora en vuestra OLSC?

From a pure engagement perspective, definitely the champions league final.  We completely filled the pub that was our meeting place at the time, and had to overflow into the pub next door.  Shame that the result didn’t match the enthusiasm.

Contemplándolo con la perspectiva de entrega y asistencia de gente, definitivamente la final de la liga de campeones. Llenamos completamente el pub que era nuestro lugar de reunión en ese momento y desbordamos el pub de al lado. Es una pena que el resultado no estuviera de acuerdo con el entusiasmo creado.

Anything else interesting we should know about your Supporters Club? / ¿Hay algo interesante que debiéramos saber sobre vuestro club de seguidores? 

We have been growing consistently over the past 2 years, and, while given the cost and distance, going to matches at Anfield isn’t the primary interest of most members we do have members attend one or two matches a year.  Now that we are growing, our next aim is to start some kind charitable contribution.

Hemos crecido constantemente los últimos 2 años, y, dado el costo y la distancia, ir a los partidos en Anfield no es el principal atractivo para la mayoría de los miembros, tenemos socios que asisten a uno o dos partidos al año. Ahora que estamos creciendo, nuestro objetivo básico es empezar a llevar a cabo algún tipo de contribución solidaria.

A question from OLSC Kansas City: if you could repeat any Liverpool game in your home city, which would it be? Una pregunta que nos hace OLSC Kansas City: si pudieras repetir cualquier partido del Liverpool en tu ciudad, ¿cuál sería?

Istanbul is an obvious answer, and I would also say the 2nd leg of the Europa tie against Dortmund. Or speaking from personal memory, one of the 4-3 matches against Newcastle from the mid-90’s.

La respuesta obvia es Estambul, y también añadiría el partido de vuelta de Europa League contra el Dortmund. A nivel personal, un 4-3 contra Newcastle de mediados de los 90.

Finally….how are you feeling about the season? / Finalmente … ¿Cuál es tus sensaciones cara a esta temporada?

Both excited given the unbeaten league start, but a resignation that it’s going to take something extra special to stop City.

Pues… tan ilusionado por seguir invictos en liga como consciente de que va a ser muy difícil parar al City.
