Mi primer equipo con 7 aƱitos fue el Liverpool, recuerdo perfectamente mi padre (un gran fan de Shankly) sentarme enfrente de un televisor en blanco y negro a ver la FA Cup final de 1974 contra el Newcastleā¦. Mi primer partido en directo y entero ā desde ese momento quiera ser Kevin Keegan y empece a adorar los Reds.
DespuĆ©s de unos aƱos, empecĆ© a seguir mi equipo local de barrio de Londres, el Wimbledon (entonces en la 4a divisiĆ³n inglesa) porque Liverpool estaba muy lejos y mi padre no me dejaba viajarā¦ irĆ³nicamente Wimbledon tuvo una secuencia de ascensos de fantasĆa y acabo en 1ĀŖ divisiĆ³n jugando contra mi querido Liverpoolā¦ y en 1988 en la FA Cup Final (no hablaremos de ese resultado!).
My first team at the age of 7 was Liverpool, I vividly remember my Dad (who was a big Shankly fan) sitting me down to watch the 1974 FA Cup Final versus Newcastle in front a little black and white tvā¦ it was my first live and full game ā from that moment on I wanted to be Kevin Keegan and adore the Reds.
Later I followed my local team Wimbledon (then in the 4thĀ Division) as Liverpool was so far away and my Dad wouldnāt let me travelā¦ ironically Wimbledon had a fantasy promotion ride and ended up playing my beloved Liverpool in the 1stĀ Divisionā¦ andĀ in the1988 FA Cup Final (we wonāt talk about that result!).

Siempre ha sido el punto de encuentro, incluso antes de ser official branch, lo encontrĆ© buscando en la web y me presente con mi hijo Alex (entonces de 7 aƱitos) a ver un partidoā¦ no recuerdo contra quienā¦ lo que si recuerdo es que cantamos el YNWA al finalā¦ lo cual mi hijo recuerda de manera importante y con mucho cariƱo.
El branch (la peƱa) ha evolucionado tanto en estos Ćŗltimos aƱos, gracias al trabajo de algunos voluntarios –Ā no ha dejado de crecer y es muy diverso a nivel de miembros- espaƱoles, ingleses, irlandeses, miembros de paĆses de todo el mundo e incluso algun turista de fin de semana en Madridā¦todos son bienvenidos ā¦eso sĆ, si tu religiĆ³n deportiva es el Liverpool FC, āit means moreā (esto significa mĆ”s)ā¦como dicen algunos.
It has always been the meeting point, even before it became an official branch, I found it on the internet and I turned up one day for a match, canāt remember who we were playingā¦ I do remember we sang YNWA at the endā¦ and my son remembers this important moment with much love.
The branch has evolved so much over the years thanks to the hard volunteer work of a few ā it has grown and grown and is diverse in nature with Spanish members, expat Irish/UK members, members from around the world and the occasional weekend Madrid tourist tripperā¦ all are welcome, as long as your sporting religion is Liverpool FC, āit means moreāā¦as they say.
