Membership Renewal & New Membership – 2021/2022

RENEWAL / NEW MEMBERSHIP

OFFICIAL LIVERPOOL  FC BRANCH

MADRID REDS

SEASON 2021/22

Dear Madrid Reds:

We have had a strange couple of years, for obvious reasons, in which we find it difficult to give you an update on the upcoming season without having any news regarding when it will be possible to travel in normal conditions, when there will be tickets, etc

This year we have higher hopes and we dream of returning when Liverpool FC, the UK Government and even the airlines give us some information.

Having said that, Madrid Reds look to the new season with the same enthusiasm and are looking forward to returning to the Triskel together and to leave behind the limited capacity that meant that an average of only fourteen members attended each game last season.  We were able to go to the pub thanks to the lists that were sent to the bar in advance and even in the last game against Palace there were 26 liverpudlians together. We hope that the Red Community of Madrid returns to normality and the pub gets back  to being a place where can have the full party experience of every Premier or Champions League matchday. We will keep you informed.

As members of, above all, a Community of friends and supporters, we encourage you to become Members for  21/22 and show LFC that Madrid Reds is a great branch.

RENEWAL OR NEW ENROLLMENT INTO THE MADRID REDS

While you can be a member of Madrid Reds from anywhere in the world, to be eligible to apply for tickets to Anfield matches through Madrid Reds, you must be a resident in Spain.

The Madrid Reds annual membership fee this season 2021/22 is the same: €20.

However, if you pay before 30 September 2021, you will receive a 10% discount, making it just €18.

For children, the fee is reduced to €10.

STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR RENEWAL / NEW MEMBERSHIP:

  • If you did not register last year, enter your full details using this link:

https://madridreds.com/membership-registro-registration/

*This is important due to compliance with the data protection law.

  • If your personal details (postal address, email address, etc.) have changed in the last year, please let us know. If you wish to be removed from our database, please send us an email to info@madridreds.com with the subject UNSUBSCRIBE. If you have already registered and you still have the Madrid Reds (Simon Howard) bank account details, which are still the same as they have been for years above, make the payment and, IMPORTANTLY, send us a confirmation email to info@madridreds.com .
  • If you do not have the Madrid Reds bank account number, please email info@madridreds.com and we will send you the account details. Simon Howard will send you confirmation that the fee has been received.
  • In the email you send confirming payment, please confirm the payee information so that we can match the payment to the member. When making the payment, please note that you must put in the “subject” of the Bank: CUOTA BRANCH 2021/22  xxxYour namexxx
  • In the past we had problems because, for example, a mother or girlfriend paid her son’s/boyfriend’s membership fee. So, what happened is that by not specifying who it was paid FOR, the person listed on our list was the payer. Whoever pays, please state THE NAME OF THE MEMBER in the subject line.

Attention! The Madrid Reds Fee and the official Liverpool Membership are two different things. To be an active member of the Madrid Reds, you are not required to be an official Liverpool member. However, when Anfield tickets become available again, official LFC Membership will be mandatory, Madrid REDS will require it to apply for a ticket.

Please remember that you CANNOT pass your membership on to a friend or family member, nor can you order two tickets with one membership. We are warned that the LFC is monitoring ticket transfers. We will no longer allow such exchanges, as they could cost us our official status as a Branch.

The reason to get one or the other LFC Membership is as simple as reading the benefits that each card provides: discounts, gifts, LFC TV, etc. You will find it on the LFC website. Read it all carefully at  www.liverpoolfc.com/membership

That said, there are only two Memberships that give access to Anfield, they are:

1 * Membership Light, with a cost of £26.99, approx.  31.56€

2 * Full Membership, with a cost of £41.99, approx. 49.10€

INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP IS NOT VALID, IT DOES NOT GIVE ACCESS TO THE STADIUM.

IMPORTANT: Those of you who become LFC members for the first time, you have to select in the questionnaire that you belong to the Madrid Branch (Madrid Reds does not appear as such, our official name is Madrid OLSC Branch, there is no possible confusion, in Madrid there is only one).

According to our calculations, we do not intend to apply for tickets before November or December, hoping that normality will have returned by then, when it does and we can return to Liverpool, before going to Anfield, it will be essential for those who have not gone before to link it to the Branch through the Friends and Family system. In order to do this correctly please contact us by email (info@madridreds.com) and Simon Howard will explain how to do this when the time comes.

We do not organise travel or accommodation. Everyone makes their own way there. However, we do try to go on visits together, pre and post match at the King Harry pub near Anfield etc. And we also try to have a dinner in Liverpool.

Remember that, apart from the tickets that we can apply for through the Branch, as a Membership holder you can apply for tickets individually when the deadlines open. Again, when you can come back. Please check and keep an eye on the LFC website, we will not announce this date, it is up to you as an individual.

UNFORTUNATELY, IN THE PAST WE HAVE SEEN PEOPLE COME TO THE BRANCH WITH THE SOLE INTENTION OF GOING TO ANFIELD. BECAUSE OF THIS, WHEN THE TIME COMES TO RETURN TO ANFIELD, THE COMMITTEE WILL ASSESS APPLICATIONS FOR TICKETS ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES:

  1. THE LINK TO THE BRANCH,
  2. SENIORITY IN MADRID REDS,
  3. THE REGULAR ATTENDANCE IN THE TRISKEL (ALTHOUGH THE OBVIOUS EXCEPTION IS PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE MADRID WHO ARE ALREADY VETERANS IN THE BRANCH, APART FROM EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED DUE TO COVID).
  4. THE PARTICIPATION IN OUR ACTIVITIES.

WE ALL WANT TO SEE “FAMILIAR FACES” WHEN WE GO TO LIVERPOOL.

The feeling of COMMUNITY is very important to us.

The Committee is studying which matches we have more possibility of being granted tickets given our experience of over ten years.

You know that the dates/times of the matches are approximate, television ultimately decides. Be VERY attentive to changes

We also ask that, once we know which matches we are granted (if any), the request from the members is made in a responsible way. Once a member requests a ticket and it is allocated to them, that ticket is theirs, they have to pay for it and it is not enough for them to later say they can’t go because X, Y and Z.. no matter what the reason.

The ticket for each match are paid for separately, we manage them through the Branch by depositing the money in the account referred to above.

LFC usually contacts us BETWEEN 4-6 WEEKS in advance to CONFIRM that we have the tickets and where we are in the stadium.

We will of course let you know as soon as possible who has or has not been granted tickets, so that you can book your flight and hotel as far in advance as possible.

Two years ago the price for the matches ranged from 45-80 euros ticket, depending on the area of the stadium where we are located.

We pay the same as any other person going to the stadium, not like the travel agencies or what you can find on the internet that charge a surcharge.

Important, the Branch is only entitled to attend Premiership matches. We do not have tickets for the English Cups, nor Champions in any case. Attempts have been made and will continue to be made that, if the club plays a European competition in Spain, we will be given a quota of tickets, BUT so far it has been impossible due to the massive following and loyalty of the Travelling Kop.

What does belonging to Madrid Reds afford you?

As we have already said, we hope that they will change the rules on seating and social distance during the season and thus re-announce on social networks that all matches will be broadcast at The Triskel Tavern, Madrid, Corredera Alta de San Pablo, 20, or, as stated in other forums, San Vicente Ferrer, 3 28004 Madrid. Metro Tribunal. We hope not to have to continue with the previous reservation lists. Logically, anyone can come to Triskel Tavern to watch the match with us, BUT THERE ARE SPACE RESERVATIONS/FORUM RESERVATIONS FOR PAID MADRIDREDS AND REGULAR FRIENDS IN THE CAVERN. When you come for the first time, bear in mind that there are people who have been going to the pub for years and have been allocated a place in the bar. However, things go back to normal, we are sure there will be a seat for all members.

We also give a gift/souvenir every season. So far we have had scarves, t-shirts, a polo shirt, a key rings, a pennant, a breakfast mug and a beer glass. Most of these are for sale on request.

Any surplus money is used either for an annual party, or for other club matters (making banners, etc.) that the board of directors consider necessary for the organisation. We also make donations to specific Foundations if it is deemed appropriate. We have a commitment to you that there will be a big party to celebrate the Premier 19/20 when circumstances permit this.

Anyone who wants to know about the status and an explanation on the expenditure of the accounts can request it.

Another point is that we participate with the Liverpool Foundation and we will repeat initiatives in the Community of Madrid supporting local NGOs on behalf of LFC, such as the food bank (the one we did with Aaqua and Malasaña Acompaña – last years was a great success). As a member it is necessary to think about and propose initiatives of any kind, social, sporting, etc. TOGETHER. We strongly encourage you to suggest anything in this regard.

We are also open and eager for you to write articles on the website, Facebook, etc.

Just in case:

DO NOT communicate with us through Facebook, Messenger, personal emails, WhatsApp or any other way.

ONLY this email info@madridreds.com is valid.

WE WILL NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ASKED USING OTHER MEANS.
